Personal Injury Claims
Personal injury is a legal term for an injury to the body, mind or emotions, as opposed to an injury to other physical property. The term is most commonly used to refer to a type of lawsuit alleging that a person's injury has been caused by the negligent acts of another. The most common types of personal injury claims are vehicular accidents, accidents at work, tripping accidents, assault claims, accidents in the home, product defect accidents, and holiday accidents. The term personal injury also incorporates medical and dental accidents.
CDR has provided expert and consulting witness services for attorneys and their clients on a wide variety of personal injury claims. Our work involves investigation and research of the accident location with emphasis on site conditions prior to and at the time of the accident. Along with the site visit and possible interviews of relevant persons, careful analysis of the following are often essential elements of our personal injury case work:
Construction documents
Photographs
Daily job reports
Weather history
Material specifications
Permit and inspection history
Labor and Industry reports
Medical history and treatments
Deposition transcripts
When our analysis is complete we can apply pertinent codes and regulations to develop our opinion, which then will be offered in deposition, settlement talks, or trial testimony.
